Challenges that remain
Cost, scalability, and infrastructure are still hurdles. High-performance biomaterials and advanced recycling require investment to match the price and volume of conventional supply chains. Consumer behavior and fast-fashion models also complicate efforts to reduce consumption. Regulatory alignment and standardized metrics for durability and recyclability are needed to prevent greenwashing and ensure meaningful environmental gains.
